Send Directions from Desktop to Your Phone

Google recently introduced a new feature to its Maps app. To use this feature, you will need to set up your smartphone. Here is the direction for iOS.

  1. Update your Google Maps app
  2. Go to Settings > Notifications > Sent from desktop maps
  3. Toggle the switch on
  4. Search for a new location in Google Maps from your computer

Now anytime you search for a new location, you will see the “Send to device” option (see above). Click on it, and you will see a list of devices you have registered with your Google account. If sending to your phone is successful, you will see a gray checkmark. Then, on your phone, the location will show up as a notification and when you tap on it, the map will automatically open. Saves time and I like that!
